Hi,
I'm Amy Posner, and I am so happy to be joining the Eddie I
family, as Director of this wonderful Jewish sleepaway camp. I've grown
up in Jewish camping, my family has shared the great fun and excitement
of Eddie I, and we look forward to a terrific Summer 2003.
I've already heard legends about Summer 2002, and I'm beginning to find
out why families fall in love with "Eddie I." This is a camp where
everyone is a part of a close and caring community, sharing special
friendships that transcend where we come from or our personal Jewish
identity....Summer
magic happens here, and as our last reunion showed, it keeps Eddie I
campers counting the days until next summer. Add to that a skilled, spirited and experienced
staff, a campground that is positively enchanting, exciting
programs....and we have the ingredients to make Summer 2003 better than
ever.
Last year, Camp Eddie I captured the imagination of the Jewish world,
bringing 60 Israeli children to
share a Summer experience with campers from 6 other countries. This
year, we're hoping to continue that program...to bring back our nature
program, to introduce new families and staff to Eddie I, and to bring
superior management, concern for health and safety, enhanced arts
programming, superior kosher food, and new special surprises for Summer
2003.
With Denise, Dave Bruhl, Rhonda and Ellen, and many more staff returning
next summer...with "old families" signed up and new families coming to
us in record numbers, I look forward to meeting you at ourhouse
and reunions, and to seeing you soon, as the winter recedes and I can
join you in my first summer as Director of Camp Eddie I.

A
summer at Camp Edward Isaacs helps children learn to love the outdoors,
appreciate their surroundings, develop self-esteem, enhance their skills
in the arts and sports and make friendships that last a lifetime.
Only
70 minutes north of the Central Queens YM-YWHA (located in Forest Hills,
New York), campers and parents take comfort in knowing that they are
not too far from home. With a camper capacity of 200, and a camper to
staff ratio of 4 to 1, each camper is given the quality and individual
attention and supervision they deserve. Camp Edward Isaacs has been
providing campers with a safe, nurturing Jewish camp experience for
40 years.
Campers
engage in mountain biking, nature hikes, singing, dancing, archery,
arts and crafts. They swim in our Olympic size pool and boat, fish and
use Surfbikes on our private lake. Our program is well-structured and
designed to help each campers discover and advance within his or her
own personal interests, and it also teaches the importance of group
living and togetherness as they travel together as a bunk and unit.
Come
and discover why Camp Edward Isaacs is…"The Sleepaway Camp that's
Close to Home....and close to the heart of generations of campers."
